A truly great photographer should be able to wear a lot of hats in order to create a fun experience and take beautiful shots of your wedding. Here are a few things you should ask during the interview:
When I talk to engaged couples about their upcoming wedding, one of the most common things they worry about is how they will look in their wedding photos.
Before our wedding day, most of us haven't experienced a professional photo shoot or received any modeling instruction. Don't worry! I'm here to let you know that that is okay, and you can still get amazing photographs on your wedding day using the following tips:
Practice Good Posture
Professional models are all about posture. Standing tall with your shoulders pulled back and your chin parallel to the floor is an easy way to look your best in your photos. If you can start practicing your posture before your wedding day, even better. Don't feel the need to be stiff, however. Try to relax while you lengthen your body to get the most natural photos possible.
Book A Great Makeup Artist
Saavy brides know how much of a difference a great makeup artist can make for making you look your best. The right makeup can really make your eyes and lips pop, and should last throughout the duration of your wedding and reception. Start by getting referrals from your favorite spa or hairdresser. Then make an appointment to do a trial run for your big day.
Here's a pro tip: Make sure you don't wear a foundation that contains sunscreen if any photos will be taken using a flash! Sunscreen bounces light back in order to protect your skin. With a camera however, bouncing the flash back will give you a white ghost face in your photos.
Choose A Photographer You Could Be Friends With
One of the best tips I can give you for getting great wedding shots is to choose a Portland wedding photographer whose work you love, but whom you also feel great around.
A photographer who makes you laugh, feel comfortable, and who can work seamlessly with your guests will create an overall positive vibe on your wedding day. This vibe will lead to more laughing and genuinely happy expressions- something that you really can't fake in your wedding photos!
